Went to Soko Banja again and while hiking nearby hills I stumbled on a jewel none of the locals ever told me about before. It felt like a private piece of paradise, a miniature creek full of boulders overgrown with moss, completely secluded by forest. I installed my gear on a green-carpeted rock, filled my waterbowl from stream that kept murmuring stories in “sotto voce” and laid in the basic composition with DE ATRAMENTIS DOCUMENT BROWN in my trusty PERFECT SKETCHBOOK.
When I started blocking in with paint, a curious friend came in, offering a valuable piece of advice.
But I was encompassed by cool breeze, bird songs and shadow play, reflecting how Lord Of The Rings or Game Of Thrones could have been filmed here, and kept going and going at it, making it darker and moodier in the end than the actual scene was. The fly was right.
Excuse to go back and try again?
